Our Experience

Our Story

Our Story

When I was in my twenties I moved to Hove and happened to have a neighbour who had early onset Alzheimers. Coming home to find some strange goings on I took it upon myself to check in on him and we became friends. I enjoyed his company and making sure he was ok just came naturally. A few years on I moved to Henfield and started keeping an eye on our elderly neighbour, word spread and soon I was being asked to look after a number of people in the area. I’ve always had a real passion for helping people maintain their independence so I decided to turn my passion into a much needed service for our community and Sussex Home Checks was born.

Our People

Our People

We started our business because of our passion for caring, therefore we look for staff who also have a naturally caring personality. Of course, for your reassurance all of our staff are DBS checked, first aid trained and fully insured.

Our Promise

Our Promise

We promise to check in on your relatives like they were our own, we will naturally develop a friendship and look forward to our visits as much as they do.

Our Mission

Our mission is to let the fiercely independent older community continue to live their lives as they want, without needing to rely on their family, for as long as possible.

What Our Clients Say

‘Using Henfield Home Checks has completely transformed both my Dads life and my own. Dad truly looks forward to his evening visits, we find HHCs professionalism and naturally caring nature is second to none. Using HHC every evening for insulin & food checks – plus emergency call outs – has given me so much peace of mind. It plays a huge part in enabling my Dad to enjoy living at home still.’

Julia K, Hove

“Margaret is 76 and perfectly capable of cleaning, cooking and personal hygiene. She enjoys weekly trips to Brighton on the local bus and she regularly socialises with her friends. Margarets only life difficulty is remembering to take her prepared medication at the right time. When she forgets to take them it makes her day very uncomfortable.

We aren’t close by so are unable to check on her throughout the day. We asked HHC to make regular visits and a phone call each day to help them both out.

Margaret no longer worries about missing her medication and we have complete peace of mind that Mum is able to live life independently again”
